LEICA ELMARIT 180MM F2.8 ON SONY A7S

All of these Elmarit shots were made on the Sony A7S while the Takumar 135mm f2.5 and SMC Pentax 135mm f2.5 were shot with the Sony A7R2 and are labelled as such. I guess lens angle of perpective is a bit different ie. 180mm vs 135mm. Pixel density are also different 12MP for A7S and 42MP for A7R2.

It might be worthwhile to try out the Elmarit 135mm f2.8 for similar shoots later. I know for a fact that my 135 specimen is slightly soft, maybe shooting on a tripod would help.

My Elmarit and the Takumar were manufactured about the same time, my Elmarit (#2282274) were made in 1968, there were 2500 units made that year. A later production Elmarit 180/2.8 R II superceded 180/2.8 R, and is a contemporary of the SMC Pentax. 180/2.8 R II were made from mid to late 1970s up until 1997.

My fascination with Leica from 2001-2004 while in the Netherlands saw me dealing in vintage lenses from the Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij Assen office parking lot where dealers would come to unload, and I to offload, while everyone else were having lunch. I collected the 35mm, 90mm, 135mm and 180mm and numerous L39 screwmount lenses within that period. The happiest happenstance is that all of them are now usable on my Sony A7S and A7R2, even if "digital" was a foul four letter word back then.
