January has just passed

Thirty one days of the 1st month of 2020 has just passed. And all those days I can't recall having done anything significantly outdoorsy on the acoount of the drizzle, the rain and pretty much gloomy climes. Part of it is winter and part of it is just the crummy hand dealt by weather starting way back in August of 2019.

Weekends have been completely claustrophic and non eventful. The highlight was probably the pumpkin-yoghurt-ricotta cheesecake and date ricotta cheesecake.  The rice apam didn't work out to well.

Typically by this time of year it would've snowed at least a couple of times. I don't mind not having snow and sleet which rare staples here anyway. The rain though has been relentless. The sun rarely comes out except for the few short days. Daily there are just clouds, grey days and occasionally replaced by wet windy day.

February is around the corner, things are looking up hopefully. Maybe more sun will show in the coming days, puffy white clouds instead of grey dull ones, bluesky instead of rain. Or maybe we will be blessed with a few days of sunny chilly weather ... cold dry days.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020

2019 has passed ... it's been a hectic year!

Ali sat for his IB in May 2019 and was off to university by mid Aug 2019. One has left the nest. Though not as pampered as I was when I left for prep school in California prior to university in New York, he was excited to strike it on his own. As parents of course you can almost touch the trepidation inside you during the days before, during and after one of them flew out of your sight. May Almighty God be with him always

: blessing him with fruits to his endeavours, fulfilling hopes and protect him from all his fears.

FB has been a scourge all year yet again ... I have been putting some work on my blogs, and a bit less effort on FB. I now feel less attached to Zuckerberg and feel less compelled to update status and make new personal entries.

Reading picked up significantly and managed to complete 8 books in total! This year I'm aiming for 12 books by end of 2020! Heavier tomes are waiting to be read ... looks to be a heavy year, may end up with less than 12 books.

I uploaded quite a few videos on Youtube, not as many flight videos however quite a significant increase of timelapse videos as well as underwater clips. Succeeded to upload underwater clips of kelp, jellyfish, shrimps and fish fries ... those were targets that took quite some attempts to complete.

Captured possibly my best Milkway shots in 2019 from the Trans Himalayas this year. Truly enjoyed our family vacation to India eventhough apparently we left a sunny summer behind. Planning for another extended trip to the Trans Himalayas for some trekking and more Milkway for 2020/21.

For 2020 ... read more, make more videos, and even less FB and Zuckerberg!
