After being in Stavanger for almost 4 years now , we finally found the perfect week to visit family in Esjeberg, Denmark ... the October schoolbreak. A swift half day later we reached our destination just after midnight, driving all the way from Stavanger to Kristiansand, hopping on the Colorline ferry across the North Sea to arrive Hirsthals an hour or so after sundown. Three hours driving in the dark Danish highway later we made our way into sleepy Esjeberg.
Luckily we had one full day of sun at Legoland near Billund, the rest of the week was rain, fog and more wetness. It's good to catch up with family though, lounging at home chomping on home cooked food and reliving childhood stories from home. It was good for the kids to hangout with the cousins, cooped up in the house all week.
